Emmanuel Healthcare - pioneering medical and primary healthcare programmes Emmanuel Healthcare is the operating name of EMMS International. The name was adopted following a merger between EMMS International (formerly the Edinburgh Medical Missionary Society) and Emmanuel Hospital Association (UK), a voluntary Christian organisation. As EMMS it was internationally known for its pioneering work in training medical students for work overseas. Today, it is involved in primary healthcare programmes in Malawi, India and Nepal, as well as supporting the Nazareth Hospital and helping other mission hospitals in many countries. |
