Holy Trinity’s Summer Holiday Club ‘Rocky’s Plaice’ was a huge success. The church was transformed into a fish and chip shop. Children of all ages came along each morning during the summer holidays to enjoy messy arts and crafts, silly games, fabulous and funny acting, and to learn more about the adventures of Jesus’ friend Peter (Rocky).

Each day started with a morning wake-up routine as we danced and cleaned the cafe with Mrs Trout and her cleaning crew. The Sardines led us in some crazy action songs, praising Jesus. We then split into our smaller groups for competitions, discussions and challenges before coming back together for the final part of the morning. The best bit was following the antics of Salt and Vinegar the two accident prone trainee chefs at Rocky’s Plaice, and their Italian boss, Mr Tagliatelle (or ‘Wobbly Belly’ as we called him!). After Salt and Vinegar had made a mess of the kitchen floor, it was time to go home, looking forward to another day of craziness in Rocky’s Plaice.

Holy Trinity Church will be running its Summer holiday club in 2011 from Mon 25th-Friday 29th July, but if you can’t wait till then, why not come along to our special Rocky’s Plaice All-Age services. These will be on Sunday mornings from 11.00am till 12.00 noon, and will have all the best bits of Rocky’s Plaice, including the adventures of Salt and Vinegar. Refreshments will be served before and after the services. You are welcome to come along whatever age you are!
