Who's Who?

Mark Wroe    Vicar and acting-Archdeacon of Northumberland

Together with the churchwardens and the church council (PCC), Mark holds responsibility for leading the church in its mission and ministry. He is married to Caroline and they have three daughters. For the duration of 2018 Mark has been appointed as acting-Archdeacon of Northumberland. Whilst he remains Vicar, he is not involved directly in the day to day leadership of the church. 

Tim Sanderson   acting-Vicar

Tim is the Associate Minister at Holy Trinity Church but has been appointed as the acting-Vicar during 2018.  Tim is responsible for the day by day leadership of the church, supported by staff, wardens and PCC.  Tim is married to Steph and they have two teenage children.  He has a particular interest in how the church can engage with and serve the community.

Alice Ward   Assistant Curate

Alice is married to Robert and they have four grown up children who were all in the Holy Trinity playgroup when they were small!  They now have two little granddaughters, in Hamburg and London. Alice’s background is as a therapeutic counsellor, and also chaired Home Housing (a Housing Association) and was on the board of Traidcraft. With her husband Robert, she restarted St Luke’s Church in Spital Tongues as a ‘Fresh Expression’, and will be serving there part time as well as at Holy Trinity church.

Alison Edwards   Administrator

Alison works from the church office and is people's first point of contact by phone, email or in person. Alison is responsible for ensuring the administrative side of things runs smoothly. She also looks after hall and church bookings. Alison is also passionate about developing people's prayer and spirituality and is one of the national Renovare Team.

Sally Hunter  Youth Worker

Sally has responsibility for overseeing and developing youth work (11-18's) at Holy Trinity. She recently completed her degree in youth work and theology. Sally is originally from Leyland, Lancashire although loves to visit many other parts of the world. She loves sports, both partaking and watching, spending time with friends and family, and eating good food.

Steph Sanderson                                                       Children's and Family Outreach Worker

Steph leads our monthly Messy Church initiative and is also responsible for co-ordinating our children's work on Sunday mornings. She co-leads our parent & toddler group Trinity Tots, and is part of the local Open The Book team. When not at Holy Trinity, Steph works as a primary school supply teacher. She is married to Tim and has two teenage children.

Steve Booth   Caretaker

Steve is our part-time caretaker and verger. His main role is to ensure everything is ready for worship and other special events at Holy Trinity, and to support the staff and wardens in taking care of our buildings. Steve has been involved as a member of Holy Trinity for several years.

 

Colin Smith   Supporting Minister

Colin is a retired ordained minister who supports our ministry in various ways, largely by assisting with leading and preaching in services, but also through his ministry to those who come to our Vintage Lunch for senior residents. Colin is a skilled photographer and keen cyclist.

Adam Dixon  Student Co-ordinator

Adam engages with our students at Holy Trinity. When he’s not socialising with his fellow undergrads and post-grads; you’ll find him playing bass in the music group. Adam is currently reading Architecture at Northumbria University but don’t worry he bears no grudges to those studying at Newcastle. Adam has lived in Newcastle and surrounding areas for the past 15 years; make no mistake though; he’s still a Yorkshireman at heart!

 

Justin Burdon    Alpha Co-ordinator

Justin works as a GP having previously served overseas with Tearfund. He coordinates the Alpha Course at Holy Trinity and is part of our preaching team.
